Those who follow a religious creed like to believe in an ideology.
Those who follow the ALP are like a religious creed, they too like to believe in an ideology.
Those who follow the Liberals/Nationals coalition are not ideologues, but realists.
Take for example Ms Gillard's latest musings on education, disability and cost of electricity.
Education wise, a wish list has been placed on the agenda by the ALP, with no costings and no real way of changing things because education is not a Federal issue but a State responsibility. Ideology not reality.
Disability is another area that has not been costed properly, but is a wish of the ALP to "look after everyone". Again, no costings, ideology not reality.
Electricity, prices are rising, a reason is because States, under years of ALP governments, had money stripped away from power companies as special dividends to boost ALP state coffers. This money should have gone into infrastructure, but did not, so poles and wires are wearing and now need to be replaced. Ideology obviously went into this diversion of funds, ALP acolytes decided to spend the money elsewhere.Further to this, the Carbon Dioxide tax is causing prices to rise, ideology causing spiking in power costs.
Australians have a Federal election coming in the new year, I hope that actuality and reality outshine ideology, this is our only hope of not becoming a failed state, like Greece, Spain etc, and now possibly the USA.

Schoolies
Schoolies has come and gone, my daughter, 18, has returned from the Gold Coast unscathed, tired, but happy.
She went to Schoolies with a bunch of friends, had a great time and was safe at all times. This is because the law and order issues that are used in safe Australia are uncommon in other places. like Bali, Byron Bay. You get my drift.
Law and order, taken seriously in certain areas of Australia, keep people safe and happy. Go to Bali and expect to be victimised, picked on, hunted by others that are allowed to trawl the streets looking for victims. Drug sales are common in uncontrolled areas, unlike Surfers, where my daughter said no one tried to sell her drugs. Obviously the night clubs and bars sell alcohol, a drug, but do so under lawful terms.
Bali is a place out of control, anything goes as long as you part with your dollars, the secret as to why those out of control areas are popular with those that want to go outside legal mores. I am not a wowser, but do understand the issues with legal and illegal drugs, Surfers also understands this and encourages this as control is the issue.
The press has been full of stories about Bali, Byron, out of control toolies and drug usage.
My congratulations to Queensland for a safe controlled environment.

Solar - the only way to go
I bought a solar powered car the other day, made from solar
powered elements, I am going to enjoy filling up with solar fuel each time I
use solar resources.
I bought a solar powered phone the last week, I am going to
enjoy using my solar powered phone every time I call someone.
I bought a solar powered computer today, I am going to enjoy
using my solar powered device because it is eco-friendly.
As a matter of fact, everything I use in this modern,
eco-friendly, sustainable world is solar powered.
My life is solar powered, as is yours, as is everyone’s, all our
energy comes from the Sun, our solar powered star.
All oil, gas, fuel or whatever that is used to liberate energy
is solar powered, made from the energy expended by our Sun over the Eons.
So ipso facto, all that we create is solar powered, we are all
good little creatures using solar products.
Next time a greenie gets in your face about the disgusting way
you lead your life by using oil, gas, any energy at all, tell them you probably
use more solar energy than them, so you are the sustainable one.

Zombie Apocalypse
Here we go. It is time for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Life will now drive down until society breaks down, law and order is not in control, only the strong will survive.
Natural order will come into play, the strong will adjust and thrive, the weak will wither and die on their own vine, one that is made of nothing.
Who cares about the rest when you have to worry about your own. Who gives a damn when all you can see is survival. Who worries about others when all of life is concerned with your own life.
Maybe this is how the natural order is meant to be, survive yourself and your family, the rest can starve.
Bring it on, give me a reason to go outside norms that have no more thought, I will go to the extreme to take it on.
Honestly, why do good thinking people, or any cognitive beings, think that others can take on their problems? Get on with life and go for the best results that can be delivered.

All the little ducks in a row.
Well well. It may be on. KRudd may well be
on his way back into the Lodge. But most likely for a short time.
Look at what has happened in the last short
while.
Last night, MP Andrew Leigh, resigned his
post as Deputy Chairman of the caucus committee investigating
migrant worker visas in the mining industry.
2 weeks ago MP Daryl Melham quit his post
as Chairman of caucus.
MP and Immigration Minister Chris Bowen had
a major falling out with PM Julia Gillard over the mining deal for migrant
workers.
Gillard claims she was left out of the loop,
Bowen denies this and says she was fully informed.
A poll initiated by the Qld branch of the Miscellaneous
Workers Union shows that if KRudd was leader then the ALP electoral chances
would soar.
The head of the union, Ms Louise Tarrant,
is angry with Mr Gary Bullock, the Queensland head of the union, for his
initiating of the poll, says the unions should not be involved in Leadership
issues.
MP Peter Slipper, bought by the ALP, is a
sexist, misogynist, bi-curious piece of work, he has been shamed.
In the ALP, there is a major tussle going
on between the misogynists and the misandrists, the male and female cohorts.
Even with their sexist discrimination in
favour of women, the women still want more and to rule the roost. Julia, Nicola,
Penny. All punching above their weight
but soon to have the knockout blow delivered.
Just this morning, the NSW police raided the home of MP Craig Thomson, the
brothel creeper, on behalf of the Victorian Police. Police do not normally
co-operate across borders unless they are sure they have their man.
This will not affect the numbers in
Parliament, but the Australian people read the papers, look at this rowdy bunch
and see a party spinning out of control, the Facebook invitation has gone
feral, the hookers are in town, the parents are away and the grog cabinet is
being emptied.
The Australian people then look across to
the other side and see structure, integrity, grit and determination, above all,
they can see a plan to close the party down and pay back the shysters who let the
party the money to get out of control.
As I said earlier, KRudd may be on his way
back to the Lodge, but only for a short while.

Presidential Debate Part II
Just watched the 2nd Presidential debate, in my mind Mitt Romney won hands down, he spoke easily and succinctly and also offered hope to the American people with his background of having run businesses and Governments before that did make money and created employment for citizens. Barack Obama on the other hand was defending his last four years, which is not an easy task, he did not offer hope, just more of the same, bigger deficits and more government intervention in people’s lives.
BO also interrupted when MR was speaking, this is not a good look, smacks of desperation.
MR was polite and to the point, kept his interruptions to a minimum and looked confident and keen.
The big difference was that MR pointed out that he had experience at job creation quite a number of times, BO does not have the same level of experience and I think this will cut through in the end, give the job to a real Professional, not someone who marked his papers as Present.
The ALP and Criminality
What is it with the ALP and Criminality?
Are they lovers holding hands and tripping down the highway to hell?
I know that the ALP thinks of itself as the party for the common people, that does not mean that it should act so uncommon.
After all, what is common about theft from an organisation, fraud, adultery, distortion of facts and fabrication of details, intent to influence law officers, sexual deviation, paedophilia.
Not so common is the number of people involved in criminal activity, except for members of the ALP, especially those in Parliament.
I can only conclude that the Parliamentary members of the ALP are herd like, have a belief in a common cause, and that common cause involves criminality. As Graham Richardson famously said, Whatever it Takes.
And it seems that they also believe in Taking Whatever. The HSU, purported to represent the members interests, is a honey pot used by the executive branch to pleasure itself.
The facts are out there, but the wheels of justice turn slow, especially when the brake is on and the engine is idling, all engineered by members of unionised workplaces that are associated with the ACTU and the ALP.
It really is a case of what is in it for me, where is my share, I want my cut, self interest is the order of the day, not communal interest as espoused by platforms and ideologies. The problem is that self interest is not an issue if handled properly and legally, the ALP and the Unions seems to delight in going outside normal boundaries, those rules are for little people, not the mighty members of the Union movement.

Sexism
Am I a sexist because I am a male? Do I
believe in the basic inherent difference between women and men? The
Oxford Dictionary says that sexism is "prejudice,
stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis
of sex". Does my wife believe in the basic inherent differnce between
men and women?
Given the differences between women and men, then yes, there is a difference between women and men.
Men are stronger, women are weaker. This is genetic, not sexism.
Women are prettier, men are uglier, this is genetic, not sexism.
Plants, rocks, animals are all different, sex wise, construct wise, just different.
So do we have to carry on about the differences all the time. Well why not. Captains of industry are different to the workers who provide labour for the enterprises, does this make them different, well yes, it all depends on drive, incentive, education, ability and want. Does this make everyone who makes it to the top of an enterprise a sexist, I think not. It just is as the world and nature has always had it, cream rises to the top.
Did Gillard become Prime Minister because she was best for the job or did she stab her boss in the back to take the Prime position beacase she is a sexist?
Did Abbott become Opposition Leader because he was best for the job or did he stab his boss in the back because he is a sexist?
It is time to take a breath, step back and look at the big picture, you are where you are because you want to be there. Sexism, racism, descrimination, prejudice have nothing to do with it, it is because. Humans, as all animals do to survive, can be the best and they can revel in the stance.
Get on with life and enjoy the ride, the end result is after all the fun, pretty dismal.

Life in a big city
What does it cost to have a tradesperson attend your house for services?
Well, consider this, van cost say $30,000, insurances say $5,000 including vehicle, workers comp, liability, third party and it goes on, materials say $5,000, but a bunnings store is needed to cover everything. Petrol, maintenance, workers wages, state payroll taxes, PAYE taxes, GST, taxes on profit, and again, the list goes on.
So, if you want a professional tradesperson to attend your home, think about the worker getting a decent wage, like you do, and all the ancillary costs involved in getting that person there.
Australia has a high cost of living and this is reflected in the cost of goods and services as well as a decent wage.
If you want cheaper goods, go to a failed state like Greece, where no one pays tax, so society fails.

A Tale of Two Cities (Apologies to Charles Dickens)
Socialism
The driving
force behind socialism is the thought that everyone is equal. How this plays
out in reality is another matter. Enforced equality is generated by redistribution
of wealth and income, one of the basic tenants of Socialism (and Australian Labor
and the USA Democrats).
So under Socialism,
a businessman is allowed to set up a business making widgets and to do this he
employs people. He makes his widgets and sells them on the market to consumers.
He ends up making a profit after paying for materials to make the widgets,
paying wages to those he employs to construct the widgets, paying taxes on his
profit after deductions. The businessman ends up with a tidy sum, and thanks to
his entrepreneurial skills, can afford to buy a bigger house, a better car, take
more holidays and generally have a better standard of living than those he
employs. He is also paying a much larger amount in taxes than those he employs.
Those taxes,
along with the taxes of the employed, are used to construct roads, build
hospitals, pay teachers, employ police, fireman and bureaucrats, including
politicians.
The businessman’s
income is such that his lifestyle upsets some other members of society who feel
that they are being exploited to fund his lifestyle. They want part of his
largess. They convince certain politicians to increase taxes of widgets, which
delivers more money to bureaucrats to spend on hospitals etc.
This is
where it gets tricky, because the widgets are wanted by all, but they have
become more expensive because the tax increase has forced the price of widgets
up, the businessman has increased his prices to keep his income the same. The
politicians are not happy with this so they introduce new taxes so that the
workers can have more pay, more bureaucrats are employed to distribute the new
taxes. This has a
crippling effect
on the business as less employees are available to work as the bureaucrats are
being paid more and with better conditions than those who actually do
constructive work making the widgets. So more workers choose to be bureaucrats
than constructive widget workers.
The businessman
sees that things are tough so he turns down production and because of supply
and demand action he actually sees that the price of widgets increases, but he
is employing less, but paying more taxes. As his company grew, so did the bureaucracies
that end up competing with his enterprise in terms of workers and resources.
The workers
unite to form unions to demand more wealth and cut off the means of production
from the widget maker. He is distraught, the government despises him because he
is a fat cat hoarding money away from the exploited workers who are defended by
the bureaucrats that sponge upon such workers.
The
businessman throws the towel in and closes up shop and sets up production in
Africa.
Now the quality
of life is abject in Widgetland as the workers have no jobs but demand income
from bureaucrats that are also receiving no funds as the taxpayer have disappeared.
The government borrows to pay the teeming hordes, but soon finds that the banks
will only go so far and the Land of Widget becomes a failed state. Everyone
loses everything and it is all owned by a foreign entity.
Capitalism
The driving force
behind capitalism is the thought that everyone is not equal. How this plays out
in reality is much like nature intended. Everyone have the right to make
themselves what they can out of what resources they can utilise, one of the basic
tenants of capitalism (and Australian Liberal and USA Republicans).
Under Capitalism,
a businessman is allowed to set up a business making widgets and to do this he
employs people.
They want part of his
largess. This is where the story differs, because those employees who want a
larger share go and see the businessman and convince him that if they can up
their individual production then they should receive a larger share of the profits.
The businessman thinks this through and agrees to individual contracts to reward
those that deliver more.
As the
Widgets are being turned out in greater numbers, the cost goes down and more
are being bought, taxes are increased with more sales, income and profit, all
without the interference of any bureaucracy.
More people
are employed being constructive, incomes are rising and taxes are increasing.
More is available for better roads, hospitals and teachers. Police numbers are
not required to jump as mostly everyone is busy being productive and consuming and
using the widgets being made.
The
businessman throws a party and opens another factory in Widgetland.
The workers
are happy and compete against each other in a desire to be above one another,
competition is played out in work, sports, daily life, things get better as
society improves.
Quality of
life is great in Widgetland, so much so that the bankers seek out the government
to see if they can invest the spare cash in other enterprises. The land of
Widget thrives.

Labor, Labor, Labor
Haven't posted for a while, been busy working, paying taxes, all those small things that collectively businesses and people keep this country humming along with.
Speaking of working, the Mining industry seems affected by something, a lurgy of sorts, that is causing it to contract. A combination of low pricing, high taxes, industrialised work practices, and a high spending Federal Government will do that to you. I guess the only thing to do is go to bed, sip lemon drinks, wait for the lurgy to go away, and under a new Coalition Federal Government, re-enter the game. The conditions should improve under new steering hands that encourage co-operation rather than enforcement, discussion over disputation, and investment in viable enterprises where the aim of making a quid is encouraged.
Speaking of quids, it is amazing what the ALP does with other people's money. In Australia, State and Federal Government debt (owed by you, the people) run up by Labor Governments before and since 2007 is up around $415 Billion. that is approximately $18,500 for each man, woman and child in Australia. If you base it on working population it is even worse at $36,000 per worker. Remember that at the federal election of 2007, all State Governments were Labor and had been for quite sometime.
So next time you think of buying a new car (a typical Holden Commodore V8 costs about $41,000) think twice and send the money to the Government so they can pay off your share of your debt. But if you do that then Holden can no longer employ people to make cars, miners will stop digging out minerals to make cars, paint manufactures will stop making paint for cars, and the list goes on.
So in reality, you cannot stop spending your hard earned readies to pay off your share of the debt as unemployment will increase and you will then have to add it to your existing liabilities (you pay tax to pay unemployed people). This is why Governments of a right persuasion have to increase taxation and decrease spending, to pay off the debt run up by the ALP. So next time you hear some bogan from the ALP, or Union, or worker belonging to a Union whinge about Coalition Governments increasing taxes and cutting back services (handouts) tell them they are actually to blame because they probably voted for decrepit ALP Governments that ran up the debt in the first place.
Speaking of debt, why is it that the ALP always manages to spend more than it can collect? Well, the answer is probably because next to none of them have any business acumen. It is a case of the inmates in charge of the asylum, handing out goodies and pills like there is no tomorrow, lusting for everything but not willing to be responsible for anything. Think of Gillard's ex boyfriend, Bruce Wilson (with a wife and 2 kiddies in Perth whist liaising with Ms Julia) and the money he "stole" from the AWU and its' Workplace Reform Fund, Wilson did not even "steal" from outside his own Union, he "stole" from the Union he worked for.
Speaking of lusting, I wonder how Craig Thomson is going?
