Schoolies has come and gone, my daughter, 18, has returned from the Gold Coast unscathed, tired, but happy.
She went to Schoolies with a bunch of friends, had a great time and was safe at all times. This is because the law and order issues that are used in safe Australia are uncommon in other places. like Bali, Byron Bay. You get my drift.
Law and order, taken seriously in certain areas of Australia, keep people safe and happy. Go to Bali and expect to be victimised, picked on, hunted by others that are allowed to trawl the streets looking for victims. Drug sales are common in uncontrolled areas, unlike Surfers, where my daughter said no one tried to sell her drugs. Obviously the night clubs and bars sell alcohol, a drug, but do so under lawful terms.
Bali is a place out of control, anything goes as long as you part with your dollars, the secret as to why those out of control areas are popular with those that want to go outside legal mores. I am not a wowser, but do understand the issues with legal and illegal drugs, Surfers also understands this and encourages this as control is the issue.
The press has been full of stories about Bali, Byron, out of control toolies and drug usage.
My congratulations to Queensland for a safe controlled environment.
