Haven't posted for a while, been busy working, paying taxes, all those small things that collectively businesses and people keep this country humming along with.
Speaking of working, the Mining industry seems affected by something, a lurgy of sorts, that is causing it to contract. A combination of low pricing, high taxes, industrialised work practices, and a high spending Federal Government will do that to you. I guess the only thing to do is go to bed, sip lemon drinks, wait for the lurgy to go away, and under a new Coalition Federal Government, re-enter the game. The conditions should improve under new steering hands that encourage co-operation rather than enforcement, discussion over disputation, and investment in viable enterprises where the aim of making a quid is encouraged.
Speaking of quids, it is amazing what the ALP does with other people's money. In Australia, State and Federal Government debt (owed by you, the people) run up by Labor Governments before and since 2007 is up around $415 Billion. that is approximately $18,500 for each man, woman and child in Australia. If you base it on working population it is even worse at $36,000 per worker. Remember that at the federal election of 2007, all State Governments were Labor and had been for quite sometime.
So next time you think of buying a new car (a typical Holden Commodore V8 costs about $41,000) think twice and send the money to the Government so they can pay off your share of your debt. But if you do that then Holden can no longer employ people to make cars, miners will stop digging out minerals to make cars, paint manufactures will stop making paint for cars, and the list goes on.
So in reality, you cannot stop spending your hard earned readies to pay off your share of the debt as unemployment will increase and you will then have to add it to your existing liabilities (you pay tax to pay unemployed people). This is why Governments of a right persuasion have to increase taxation and decrease spending, to pay off the debt run up by the ALP. So next time you hear some bogan from the ALP, or Union, or worker belonging to a Union whinge about Coalition Governments increasing taxes and cutting back services (handouts) tell them they are actually to blame because they probably voted for decrepit ALP Governments that ran up the debt in the first place.
Speaking of debt, why is it that the ALP always manages to spend more than it can collect? Well, the answer is probably because next to none of them have any business acumen. It is a case of the inmates in charge of the asylum, handing out goodies and pills like there is no tomorrow, lusting for everything but not willing to be responsible for anything. Think of Gillard's ex boyfriend, Bruce Wilson (with a wife and 2 kiddies in Perth whist liaising with Ms Julia) and the money he "stole" from the AWU and its' Workplace Reform Fund, Wilson did not even "steal" from outside his own Union, he "stole" from the Union he worked for.
Speaking of lusting, I wonder how Craig Thomson is going?
