Life in a big city

What does it cost to have a tradesperson attend your house for services?

Well, consider this, van cost say $30,000, insurances say $5,000 including vehicle, workers comp, liability, third party and it goes on, materials say $5,000, but a bunnings store is needed to cover everything. Petrol, maintenance, workers wages, state payroll taxes, PAYE taxes, GST, taxes on profit, and again, the list goes on.

So, if you want a professional tradesperson to attend your home, think about the worker getting a decent wage, like you do, and all the ancillary costs involved in getting that person there.

Australia has a high cost of living and this is reflected in the cost of goods and services as well as a decent wage.

If you want cheaper goods, go to a failed state like Greece, where no one pays tax, so society fails.
