New World Order - again

Well here we are in March 2020, the world is still turning, the sun is still rising and setting, the moon is still phasing, people are still panicking as they have always done.

My Sharona, should be back in the music charts, unfortunately it is my Carona that is making the news, endlessly.

On the radio, on the TV, on the internet, on world famous blogs, even here now.

Chicken little is all the rage, we are all doomed, life as we know it will end, the collapse of civilisation.

Let us dissect a few things about the world at the moment.

China is still rising, unfortunately the population still like to eat all things small or big, this has caused an outbreak of a new strain of flu.

Bats are filthy creatures, carrying diseases such as rabies, SARS, ebola and others, unlike your typical dog, cat, or goldfish. You should not eat bats, just a bit too risky (or your dog, cat or goldfish cause they are pets).

So a new flu strain has crossed from bats to humans, and the sneezing, coughing, expectorating and touchy humans are readily passing it around like a parcel at an Irish gathering.

This new strain - Covid 19 (Carona Virus) - has now made its way across to hundreds of countries with a mortality rate of between 2 and 4 per cent of infected. Fairly dire for the elderly infected, but not so much for the other members of society.

So the western world is shutting down all contactable areas, airlines, clubs, pubs, gatherings, parties, workplaces, just about everything.

Not that this will stop infection, it will slow the rate, and this will stop health authorities being swamped by infected. That is all this crackdown is doing, slowing down the infection rate.

So the western world is throwing their economies into the fire to slow down the spread of a disease that will do its thing and infect a lot and then burn itself out. Well done western world, panic to ensure there is no panic, all because we do not have the health facilities to cope with a rush of patients.

Well I guess that the underlying recession that is already infecting the western world allows the western world parliaments to use the virus and the excessive curtailments as a reason to blame for said recession, even if it means throwing the economy under a bus.

All we need now is for the lies and abuse to come from China, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba et al, regarding how well socialist/communist/hybrid states weathered the storm.
